i have no photos because i didn't make anything new, but! today! was! the! first! day! of! the! grad! show! installation! i woke so excited i couldn't stay in bed. it really did feel like i was young and it was a holiday. i drove to school and worked all day as hard as i could until the museum closed and i drove home. i painted a square of white the exact-ish color of the paper i'll be using, which meant marking the wall with blue paint-tape, using a level to make a perfectly perfect large rectangle. i do believe that my work will fit really well in the space i've been given. and some professional photographer is going to shoot slides of my work in a couple of weeks, which delights me because i'm so bad at it and it's an important part of this art thing.

and i cut archival rag board for the backs of the drawings and got half-way done attaching them to the backs of the drawings before i called it a night to get home to my new segment of my family. and to see christine, a friend who i will miss too much when she leaves. all my friends are leaving. and then i will leave my friends, too. this crazy world where no one stays fixed. blogs are so important, i do believe that.
